Serves: 4
Ingredients
-
4 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts (Pounded to even thickness, about 1-inch thick)
-
4 Slices Suncrest Country Ham (We use Center Slices)
-
1 tbsp Olive Oil
-
1 tsp Garlic Powder
-
1 tsp Smoked Paprika
-
½ tsp Black Pepper
How To Make
Step 1. Season the Chicken
In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper. Rub this mixture evenly over the chicken breasts.
2. Wrap Country Ham
Lay one Suncrest Country Ham slice flat on a cutting board. Place a chicken breast on one end and roll it up tightly, ensuring the ham covers the thickest part of the chicken. Repeat for four breasts.
3. Prepare the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F).
Tip: Clean and oil the grill grates well to prevent the ham from sticking.
4. Sear
Place the chicken on the grill. Sear for 2 minutes per side directly over the flames. You want the ham to lightly brown and firm up.
5. Finish with Indirect Heat
Move the chicken to the cooler side of the grill (or turn the burners down to low). Close the lid and cook for another 12–15 minutes (or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F).Indirect heat allows the chicken to cook through without the ham becoming too tough or burnt.
6. Rest
Remove from the grill and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute for a tender bite.
